What do you do when you live an hour and a half from work, have a small baby and own a piece of land? Call Red Door Homes.
The Haires, a busy working family, lived in Wilmington, but worked in Fayetteville - a commute that was over an hour and a half away. With the arrival of their daughter they wanted to spend less time on the road and more time at home.
Owning a piece of land in the Fayetteville area, the Haires decided to build a custom home. After searching for a builder that would be able to meet their tight deadline, work with a less-than-ideal lot and have the capacity to carry the project without a lot of oversight on their part, they met with Red Door Homes' Lisa Stafford, who walked them through the building process.
Having some very specific views of their future home led the Haires to assume this would be a difficult process, one that would require some compromise on their part. They were shocked to find Lisa never said no to any of their requests or upgrades. It appeared Red Door Homes would do whatever it took to give them their vision.
After their initial meeting, the Haires were so pleased with the process and price that reaching out to other builders didn't seem worth their time. "The fact that we could do what we wanted with our home [is what] ultimately led us to partner with Red Door Homes," mentioned Stephen Haire.
The next step involved a survey of the lot to identify any potential issues. This was another area the family thought might present a few challenges. The land they owned contained curves, hills and low spots. Again, expectations were exceeded when Red Door Homes never scratched their head or said no, but rather stepped up and helped take care of the drainage.
Choosing a floor plan and custom upgrades was a very smooth and fun process. "We'd heard horror stories about building a home... Our experience was different. We were never told no. Tom & Lisa never stopped working to get us all the options we wanted. Both were easy to get a hold of and never seemed annoyed.", Stephen raves.
The Haires selected The Lexington as their perfect starting point. The 3 bed , 2 full bath plan includes a giant family room and a large master.Being chefs, the family naturally wanted to upgrade the kitchen.See their checklist of custom upgrades and added touches.
After pouring the foundation, a final request was submitted to the team. Their request was to have the home move-in ready within 90 days... The tight deadline never posed a problem and the Haires never questioned or worried about the schedule. When they popped in to view progress, they noted that the construction site was the cleanest they had ever seen.
Now happily in their home, with a busy 16-month-old daughter, the Haire family took time to share their experience with others who may be in the same position...Owning a piece of land, but intimidated to build based on perception.
